The true collector, is someone who really appreciates the true history of that particular firearm, not just for it’s monetary value, but the history behind the firearm. Such as, why was it made? Where was it made, and why there? Remember, these older firearms, were tools that our forefathers relied on for food, self defense, and security. Over the years, some truly remarkable people, have invented, and created some truly remarkable firearms. Samuel Colt, actually failed at his first attempts in his work, but that did not stop him from inventing some of the most famous firearms of all times. Oliver Winchester was a shirt maker, and a business man, who was smart enough to seek out, B. Tyler Henry, who had past experience in the firearm industry, and launch one of the most historical firearms business in the history of America. John Moses Browning, on the other hand, arguably, the most genius of all inventors of all time. Always found time for, family, and his Mormon lifestyle. William B. Ruger, on the other hand, a genius in his own right, of a more modern era, never forgot where he came from, or for that matter his partner, Alexander Sturm, who he kept his name on every firearm he ever invented. There has been many more over the years that we just don’t have the room for here, we’re sorry if we’ve left out one of your favorites, but I know you’ll understand.

Commemorative’s are just that, a later version of a beautiful piece, for a fraction of the cost of an original, if an original is even available , or obtainable. Evan though they have their own distinct category, many true collectors shy away from them, because to them, they just don’t have that certain appeal of originality. All in all, to commemorate a certain event or person, is fine, as long as they are not misrepresented….. Reproductions on the other hand are similar to commemoratives, but they are not intended to represent any special event or person. There are a few very good reproducers out there, that are well respected and very good at their trade. Turnbull Restoration comes to mind, as their work, although not cheep, but very good at their particular trade, will reproduce exactly to factory specs a particular firearm of your choice. FAKES , on the other hand is a category that really undermines a really true hobby of interesting nature. It seems the more our technology advances, the more we see” fakes” and fake material. It is one thing for someone to refinish a one hundred dollar gun, but it is another thing when something is misrepresented for more money. The longer we collect, the more we will see this, especially as we see the increased development of technology.

This is something I’ve done only a few times, but I would like to try, more often. Here’s what it is. We put together a small collection , within your price range, after discussing with you, and advising you through the proper steps how to purchase and how not to purchase firearms. I feel this is a tremendous way to start out without wasting a lot of hard earned money, on poor investments. This service is only for the true honest beginner. We have all started out young and eager to buy all the WINCHESTERS we could find, I’ve heard this story more times than not. Even after we’ve been told to slow down. The old saying, if I only new then what I know now, really applies here.

This is a very important area, due to the fact that nobody has a crystal ball, but history, along with many financial experts will tell you that firearms can be very lucrative, as an investment. We currently have a few customers who contact us on an almost regular basis for investment purposes. This is done on an individual basis, based on your financial needs, requirements, and desires. Like most financial advisers will tell you,” diversify”, I think this is the most important part of invest/collecting. This I find is very challenging and enjoyable. I would like to expand this area, because we get to handle more and more interesting pieces that you just don’t see every day. This is done on a very confidential basis. I often hear people say that,” guns are a good investment”, I don’t agree, if you purchase a cheap handgun that is not made all that particularly well, how do you expect it to be a good investment down the road?
